HypnoBirthing®
HypnoBirthing® is based on the techniques of an English physician, Dr Grantly Dick-Read.
He was the pioneer in the field of natural childbirth, and his principles are the foundation of the National Childbirth Trust (NCT).

What is
Hypnosis?
Some people are a little wary of hypnosis from what they have seen popularised by stage hypnotists. However hypnotists like Paul Mckenna do show how hypnotism can be used to tackle all sorts of self help issues.
There’s really nothing to be scared of, we all go in and out of hypnotic states naturally on a regular basis. Hypnosis is simply a feeling of relaxed concentration, just like when you are absorbed in a good film. If it’s a really good one, you are still awake and aware of what’s going on around you, but you just ‘tune out’ the distractions and focus completely on the film.
Anyone can achieve success with hypnosis. Anyone who chooses to can reach deep relaxation and redirected focus. Many highly successful athletes use similar techniques and refer to the state of mind that self-hypnosis brings as being "in the zone" or "in flow" – i.e. completely focused. When using the techniques of HypnoBirthing®, what you will experience is similar to these states of focus.
Using
Hypnosis for
birthing
HypnoBirthing® brings child birth education and hypnosis together to provide a unique preparation for the birth of your child.
When having your baby with HypnoBirthing® you will experience a state similar to the daydreaming that occurs when you are engrossed in a good book or staring at the fire.
· You will be conversant and in good spirits totally relaxed, but fully in control.
· You will be aware of your body’s contractions, but will be able to determine the extent to which you feel the surge.
· You will experience your birthing in an atmosphere of calm and relaxation, without the fear and tension that cause pain.
· Your body’s natural anesthesia (endorphins) will replace the stress hormones that cause pain.
· When it is time for your baby to be born, you will be fully awake and involved.
